Abstract: Programming Langauge and Program Analysisis a very exciting research area with lots of opportunities for theory work, implementation work, and applications to commercial software engineering. It is a great area for people interested in mixing theory with practice. I will outline broad research challenges in this area. Then I will give an overview of research projects done by Microsoft Research India in this area. Finally, I will give some ideas for students interested in working in these areas for potential BTech/MTech/PhD projects. About the Speaker: Sriram K. Rajamani is Principal Researcher with Microsoft Research India in Bangalore, interested in the theory and practice of programming. Sriram obtained his PhD in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
